Helene Vachon & Marc Jaschke
For Helene and Marc, mosaic is a way to tell the story – a way to express what is constantly going on internally. Both artists like to create sculptures that reflect the natural landscape, and they are fascinated with the idea of being able to create public art that will withstand the weather and bring life to the community. Each piece of tesserae is shaped uniquely and placed specifically to create movement. Earth, wind and water are some of their favorite themes because they harmonize so readily with the surroundings and bring a sense of serenity and calmness that is appreciated and felt by all. Together, these two Texas artists harmonize their talents to create beautiful sculptures.
